Replacing knock sensor (M43 to 9/95)
Note instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Data MG 12
Disconnect negative lead on battery and mask.
Remove upper section of manifold, refer to 11 61 040
Remove idle speed control valve,
refer to 13 41 500
Unfasten wires on starter,
refer to 12 41 020
Unfasten wires on alternator,
refer to 12 31 020
Unfasten screw connection in cable channel on lower section of
manifold.
Unfasten plug connectors on cable channel. Place cable channel
to one side.
Caution!
Mixing up connectors for the sensors will lead to engine
damage. Connectors are positioned in such a way that mixing
them up is normally not possible. After servicing the vehicle
always make sure that the sonsors are connected correctly.
Unfasten cable channel on lower section of manifold, refer to
61 11 051
