3 Series E36 316g (M43) COMP
Unfasten hex screw (1/2) on tank frame mount.
Tightening Torque, refer to
Technical Data 13 83 1AZ
Attach lifting frame 16 8 020 to left tank frame. Raise lifting
frame on right side with handwheel to limit position.
Remove complete tank through luggage compartment using a
workshop crane. For this, it may prove necessary under certain
circumstances to raise the vehicle slightly using a lifting platform.
Caution!
Lifting fixture must be perfectly mounted on tank frame: weight
of complete unit is approx. 100kg.
Installation:
Perform leak and pressure test,
refer to 13 80 600
If the gas bottle is replaced, the inspection plate (1) (refer to BMW
Parts Service) on the filler cap lid must also be replaced.
Fit inspection plate in correct position.
(1) Month of expiration of inspection period (month of expiration at
top).
(2) Year of expiration of inspection period.
