Replacing tail panel outer section (compact)

Note:

In the following description, the vehicle is illustrated on a
straightening rig.

This is not essential for performing this operation!

Instructions on body repair,

refer to 41 00

Tail panel - outer section

Remove or disconnect following parts:

- 

Rear bumper

- 

Trunk trim panels

- 

Insulating material on trunk floor

- 

Tool tray

- 

Cable harness (partially)

- 

Lock base

- 

Impact absorbers

- 

Vent flaps

- 

Both tail lights

- 

Luggage compartment lid rubber seal

Other vehicle parts located in the repair zone or subject to be
damaged from heat, sparks or dust, must be removed or covered.

Expose connecting points on outer section of rear apron and open
up welding points:

- 

Lower lamp carrier

- 

Top of inner section of rear apron

- 

Bottom of inner section of rear apron

- 

Trunk cover plate

- 

Side wall

- 

Wheel housing extension

Remove outer section of rear apron.
