3 Series E36 316i (M40) SAL
Unscrew center bearing.
Installation:
Preload center mount in direction of travel (A) 4 ... 6 mm.
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data.
Unscrew cross member from body.
Lower transmission by turning the spindle only enough that there
is no contact with the wall or heater connections (check visually).
Installation:
Center up transmission, refer to Group 26
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data
Unscrew lever (2).
Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data
Lever out radial oil seal (3) with a narrow screwdriver.
RA Replacing radial seal for manual shift valve shaft (A5S 300J)
