Replacing complete steering lock
Caution!
After installation, carry out mechanical test (lock cylinder) and
electric operational check (e.g ignition, radio, etc.).
Disconnect ground lead from battery.
Remove steering wheel,
refer to 32 33 000.
Removing lower trim section from instrument panel,
refer to 51 45 180.
Take off collar (1).
Installation:
Check position of collar (1) relative to snap ring (2). Recess in
collar locks snap ring.
Procedures are shown on a removed steering column for better
demonstration.
Remove screws and pull off clip.
