Replacing compressor for air conditioner
(M40, M41, M42, M43, M44, S50, M51)
Note:
Remove underbody protection.
refer to 51 47 490 .
Draw off refrigerant from A/C system,
refer to 64 50 009
or operating manual for relevant service station.
If necessary, replace dryer bottle,
refer to 64 53 510.
Unfasten screw (1) and remove drive belt from compressor.
Installation:
Unfasten screw (1) until tensioning roller rotates without
friction. Press the tensioning roller on cap hex (2) with
Torque,
refer to Technical Data 64 52 3AZ .
Press against drive belt, brace and tighten down screw (1).
Unscrew couplings and disconnect suction and pressure lines.
