Replacing crankshaft position/rpm sensor on
vibration damper (M42, M43 until 9/95)
M42 up to 9/93:
Switch off ignition.
Disconnect plug-in connections at cable duct:
1.
Sensor for cylinder recognition (breakerless ignition
distribution)
2.
Impulse sensor on the vibration damper
Release screw on pulse generator.
Installation:
Clip electric wire in the guide securely to prevent the wire from
rubbing on drive belt.
Unfasten screw on cable guide.
M42 from 9/93 and M43:
Remove upper section of manifold, refer to 11 61 040
Remove cable duct from upper section of manifold, refer to
61 11 051
