Replacing temperature sensor for coolant
(M43)

Switch off ignition.

up to 9/95:

Note instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,

refer to General Data HG-12 00

Disconnect negative battery terminal

Remove upper section of manifold,

refer to 11 61 040

up to 9/95:

Unfasten leads from starter.

refer to 12 41 020

up to 9/95:

Unfasten alternator leads.

refer to 12 31 020

up to 9/95:

Unfasten screw connection on cable duct of lower section of
manifold, unfasten screw connections on engine and place cable
duct to one side.

Installation location (1):

Below the intake manifold beside the 3rd cylinder.
