Replacing knock sensor (M 42)
Switch off ignition
Note instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Data HG-12
Remove negative lead from battery and mask.
Remove cable channel on the injection-valve strip.
Unscrew upper manifold section.
Unfasten screws and remove cable channel from lower section of
manifold.
Caution!
Mixing up connectors for the sensors will lead to engine
damage. Connectors are positioned in such a way that mixing
them up is normally not possible. After servicing the vehicle
always make sure that the sensors are connected correctly.
