3 Series E36 318i (M43) CONVER
On door pillar seam, open brazed joint.
Grind down welded seam at connection point for car jack.
Expose and open seam between entrance and floor assembly.
Remove side member cover.
Remove scrap metal. Straighten and grind joint surfaces.
Fit new part and cut to size.
Drill holes for plug-welding joint entrance and floor assembly.
Drill holes for plug-welding joint for partial replacement of side
member.
Coat connection points with zinc dust paint.
Manufacture and fit reinforcements.
Width of reinforcements: Approx. 60 mm.
Coat reinforcements with zinc dust paint.
Drill bores in side member for reinforcing plates.
Coat connection points with zinc dust paint.
Install and weld reinforcements.
