Fold open locking clip of plug connection.
Disconnect plug connection.
Pull control unit out of retaining clips (retaining clip screws do not
have to be released).

Control unit for automatic transmission

Control unit for Digital Motor Electronics
For pin assignment and further information, refer to Electrical
Troubleshooting Manual Series 3 E 36.
Installation:
Observe control unit part number and coding when replacing.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Rectify faults.
Then clear fault memory.
Plug connection (1) must be inserted during removal of catalytic
converter.
The DME control unit then recognizes the output value of the idle
speed CO potentiometer.
