3 Series E36 318i (M43) SAL
Installation:
Fill fuel into suction unit (refer to BMW Workshop Equipment
Planning Documents) via filler aperture, inserting hose
approx. 40 cm in length to do so.
Suction check
Remove rear seat cushion. Unscrew covers on left and right sides.
After disconnecting plug connections on fuel level sensors,
reduction of fuel level in both halves of tank can be monitored with
a multimeter.
Fuel level drops and resistance decreases.
Drawing off via right section of tank
Spark ignition engines up to 12/94 and diesel engines
Remove rear seat cushion. Unscrew covers on left and right sides.
Remove tank compensating hose (2) from right tank flange.
Installation:
Replace hose clips.
Connect suction unit on expansion hose using a hose and
connector (refer to BMW Workshop Equipment Planning
documentation), and draw fuel out of left section of tank.
