Removing and installing automatic
transmission (A5S 300J)
Note:
On vehicles with ASC+T, the throttle body (ASC+T) and/or
the expansion tank on the master brake cylinder can
become damaged when the transmission is lowered.
Remove throttle body (ASC+T),
refer to 13 54 060.
Disconnect battery,
refer to instructions on disconnecting and connecting up
battery in MG 12.
Unflanging propeller shaft from transmission and tying up
to one side,
refer to 26 11 000.
Unfasten nut (1) in setting "P".
Caution!
Always brace bolt with special tool 24 5 220 to avoid
deformation of the cable.
Note:
Special tool 24 5 220 can only be fitted in position "P".
Unscrew cable from holder.
Pull out cable.
Installation:
Adjusting shift mechanism,
refer to 24 00 003.
