Replacing carbon brushes (Motorola
alternator)
Remove alternator and voltage regulator - refer to Repair Manual
of corresponding model series.
Unscrew screws (1 and 2) and take off carbon-brush holder.
Carbon-brush holder is replaced completely.
Installation:
Check slip rings for wear, disassembling alternator and fine-
grinding as well as polishing slip rings if necessary.
Max. eccentricity for slip rings is 0.03 mm.
