3 Series E36 318is (M42) COUPE
Determine and mark cutting line on side member and cut off along
cutting line.
Distance (A) = 65 mm
Caution!
Determine cutting line on cowl panel to match size of
replacement part and cut off.
Uncover and break brazed seam in zone (1) on the cowl panel.
Drill off welded spots on door pillar and cowl panel.
Uncover mating surfaces for hinges (1) and car jack take-ups (2),
and grind or drill off.
Grind off welded spots for door retaining strap (3).
Take off door pillar.
Straighten, grind down, clean and coat all mating surfaces with
zinc dust paint.
Cut new door pillar section to match cut on car and fit in.
Clean mating surfaces. Drill holes for plug welding.
