Removing and installing/replacing EGS
control unit (A4S 270R/ 310R)
The control unit for EGS is located in the engine compartment on
the right-hand side wall.
Raise bonnet/hood lid.
Interrogate and print fault memory prior to removal.
Remove battery.
Version with insulating cover:
Unscrew insulating cover from separating wall.
Unscrew cover.
BMW 316i and 318i:
The DME control unit (1) must first be pulled out of the holder from
underneath to be able to remove the EGS control unit.
