3 Series E36 318is (M44) CONVER
Installation:
Fit tensioning cable (B2) to screw lug (V1) and screw down
with screw (1) to convertible top linkage.
Clamping cable (B2):
Unscrew bolts using special tool 54 3 160.
Remove tensioning cable (B2) and spring (F1).
Installation:
Do not secure tensioning cable (B2) until after tensioning
cable (B1) is fitted due to shrink-fit hose on spring (F1).
Note routing of tensioning cable (B2).
Secure tensioning cable (B2) with screw (1) and spring (F1).
Only version without handle recess on finisher strip:
Pull wedges (edge protectors) out of center and out of left/right
connections (1).
Installation:
Replacement only (headliner):
The repair kit "Finisher strip on soft top frame (retaining
bracket)" must be installed,
