Removing and installing, sealing or replacing
timing case (M44)

Removal

Removal and installation are described separately.

Remove timing chain, guide rail and tensioning rail,

refer to 11 31 051.

Remove alternator,

refer to 12 31 020.

Remove alternator carrier. Unscrew oil-filter cover

These tasks are described in the work step Removing main flow
oil filter,

refer to 11 42 020.

Remove oil sump,

refer to 11 13 000.

Release gear case.
