Checking one valve guide for wear (M44)

(valve removed)

To measure tilt clearance, insert new valve so that valve stem end
is flush with valve guide.

Mount dial gauge and measure tilt clearance.

Note:

Maximum permitted tilt clearance, 

refer to Technical Data 

Note:

If tilt clearance is excessive, the valve guide should be
reamed and a repair valve with a larger shaft diameter,

refer to Technical Data, 

should be installed.

If necessary, ream out valve guide,

refer to 11 12 600
