3 Series E36 318tds (M41) SAL
Installation:
Fit all nuts and tighten down to zero clearance.
Evenly unfasten bearing cover on camshaft in 1/2 turn steps
from outside to inside.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 31 1AZ.
Rotate camshaft until valves on cylinder 4 are in TDC position.
(Cylinder 1 = working stroke).
Note:
Rotate camshaft using hex nut.
Secure camshaft with special tool 11 3 320.
Rotate engine from position of 45
°
before TDC in direction of
rotation to TDC position.
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Remove special tool 11 2 300 before starting engine.
