Rotate crankshaft clockwise towards the TDC setting of cylinder 1
(starting approx. 60 ... 90

before this point) until the indicator
remains stationary for a short time at its lowest point. Set scale of
dial gauge to zero.
To check whether cylinder 1 is in TDC position (operating cycle):
Unscrew and remove oil filler cover.
1st cam on camshaft must point upwards.
Remove plug. Continue to turn crankshaft clock-wise until plug
mandrel, special tool 11 2 300, engages in appropriate bore in
flywheel.
Caution!
Do not rotate counter-enginewise - incorrect measuring result.
Read off stroke of distributor piston on dial gauge.
