Alignment of the flanged joint.

Note: 

Sealing taper is produced by upset pipe. 

Installation:

Lubricate flanged joint lightly with copper paste -CRC-, refer to
BMW Parts Service.

Turn flanges until maximum possible ground clearance is
provided.

Align the flanges parallel to each other.

Insert screws.

M41

Loosen the clamp on the exhaust bracket.

Installation:

Insert screws.

M51

Loosen the clamp on the exhaust bracket.
