Replacing front spring strut shock absorber
on right or left

It can only be determined whether a spring strut shock
absorber unit must be replaced by checking it with a shock
tester while it is installed or with a shock absorber test
machine while it is removed.
Read and comply with Information on replacing shock
absorbers.
refer to Technical Data 31 32 Shock absorber.
When replacing the shock-absorber element for a McPherson
strut, always ensure that the replacement unit is marked with the
same code (K) as the old absorber.
Remove front wheel,
refer to 36 10 300 .
Take wires and brake hose out of holders on spring strut.
Screw in a wheel bolt and suspend wheel-bearing assembly from
body with wire.
