3 Series E36 318tds (M41) SAL
Pull lower section of steering-column casing off upper section.
compact:
To remove upper trim section on steering column, also loosen
both shear-off screws on steering column mount,
refer to 32 31 090.
Installation:
Check for correct position of lock.

Use new shear-off screws.
Installation:
Guide both holders into bores.
Insert ignition-lock ring.
Remove screw and pull off clip.
Press retaining hook and pull off switch.
Unscrew earthing cable.
Remove both headless screws and take off starter switch.
Installation:
Lock headless screws with varnish.
