Removing and installing complete rear axle
carrier
Caution!
After assembly, perform wheel alignment check,
refer to 32 00 150.
Detach handbrake cables on handbrake lever,
refer to 34 41 120.
Remove wheels,
refer to 36 10 300.
Remove exhaust system.
Detach propeller shaft from final drive,
refer to 26 11 000.
Disc Brakes:
Unscrew bolts of left and right brake pipe holders.
Unscrew brake calipers, push them in between output shaft and
control arm and suspend from car on a piece of wire.
Disconnect ABS plug. Unplug brake pad wear indicator.
Drum Brakes:
Disconnect left and right brake pipes.
Installation:
Bleed brake,
refer to 34 00 046 / 047.
