3 Series E36 320i (M50) CONVER
Mounting engine on assembly stand (M50
VANOS)
Unscrew exhaust manifold.
Unscrew nuts.
Lift off exhaust manifolds.
Installation:
Shorter manifold is at rear.
Replace nuts. Coat threads with copper paste (refer to BMW Parts
Service).
For tightening torque, refer to Technical Data.
Installation:
Replace seals. Install seals in such a way that beads face
exhasut manifolds.
Secure engine to special tool 00 1 490 (assembly frame with
special tool 11 3 300 (locating plate).
Unscrew oil pipe at VANOS control unit.
Installation:
Check sealing rings, replacing if necessary.
For tightening torque, refer to Technical Data
