Michelin 17" tyres

Situation:
Field observations have shown that in isolated cases, Michelin Pilot
SX MXX3 tyres show signs of optical defects.
The defect can cause the rubber of the tyre side walls to become detached at the transition
to the journal (1), either partially or all the way round, regardless of service life.
Note:
This is a purely optical defect and has no effect on the tyre's operability or on its
lifespan.
Tyres with the following dimensions are affected:

225/45 ZR 17 Pilot SX MXX3 TL with DOT No. 375 to 166
(production week 37/95 to week 16/96)
-
235/40 ZR 17 Pilot SX MXX3 TL with DOT No. 405 to 086
and 176 to 386
(production week 40/95 to 08/96 and week 17/96 to 38/96)
Action:
Although this is a purely optical defect, vehicles with these tyre dimensions coming into the
workshop should have their tyre checked for production date (DOT No.) and renewed if
necessary to prevent customers from feeling insecure.
Procedure:

Check all 5 tyres (incl. spare wheel) for tyre dimension and DOT No.

If a tyre is found to come from the manufacturing period stated, please contact your
nearest Michelin representative. Regardless of service life, affected tyres will be
replaced by Michelin free of charge, including fitting.
Note:
All tyres on a single axle should be renewed together!
