3 Series E36 323i (M52) COUPE
Drill off spot welding for car-jack reinforcement in area of
ornamental strip from the outside.
Caution!
Spot welding is not visible from the outside due to the double
sheet-metal panel.
Determine location of spot welding from the inside and use a
replacement part for help.
Determine location of car jack reinforcement spot welding from
inside by looking through holes provided.
Drill off spot welding from outside.
Remove side member cover.
Remove scrap metal. Straighten and grind joint surfaces.
Shoulder joint surfaces for rear side panel and door opening.

Drilled out spots in reinforcement for vehicle jack take-up
point

Joint along rear side panel
Fit in new part.
Drill holes for plug welding.
