Removing and installing complete exhaust
system (compact M41, M42, M43, M44)
M41
Remove the exhaust pipe from the exhaust turbocharger.
Installation:
Lightly coat the seal cone and threads with copper paste CRC
refer to BMW Parts Service.
Replace the self-locking nuts.
M42, M43, M44
Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor.
Unclip the cable from the retainer.
M42, M43, M44
Loosen the bolt connection of the flange on the exhaust manifold.
Installation:
Check seal, replacing if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Lightly coat the thread with copper paste -CRC- , refer to
BMW Parts Service.
Loosen the clamp on the exhaust bracket.
Installation:
After the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align
the exhaust bracket without tension.
