Otherwise write down the part number of the EPROM scope of delivery.

Note:
The following message may be displayed in the MoDiC display: 
"No data for the part numbers of the basic control module/programmed control module
is available in the program loaded .
Is the latest program loaded? If yes: order a programmed control module from the
Parts Sales Department."

If this message is displayed, you must assume that an "individual Service  EPROM"
has been subsequently fitted in the DME control module.
You will have to make a manual entry for the "Identify EPROM" step.

The part numbers for the basic control module or the programmed control module can
be found on either the silver or yellow label on the control module lid (see figure on
page 5).

Switch the ignition off.

-

Remove the DME control module and replace the EPROM.

Connect the DME control module to the engine wiring harness such that it is
operational.

Switch on the ignition

Select "2 Program EPROM".

Enter the last 7 digits of the vehicle identification number

Start automatic programming by pressing "Y" (Yes). The MoDiC now programs the
new EPROM. The progress of this programming process is indicated by a bar that
runs from the left-hand to the right-hand margin of the display and a percentage
indicator.

After successful completion of programming, switch off the ignition and disconnect the
MoDiC from the diagnosis connector.

-

Print out a new control module label via the DIS or MoDiC station and affix it to the
control module next to  the old label. The old label should be crossed out to indicate
that it is no longer valid.

Fit the control module into the electronics box.

-

Switch on the engine and check that it is running perfectly. If necessary, perform a
short test run to enable the control module to "learn" the new adaptation values.
During the adaptation phase, the engine may tick over at a higher idle speed but, after
a short time, this is governed back.

Read out the fault codes via the diagnosis program and clear any stored fault codes.

-

Pack the old EPROM in the cardboard box in which the new EPROM was delivered
and return it to the relevant subsidiary through the usual warranty channels.
