Replacing solenoid valve for reverse gear
interlock (A5S 300J)
Note:
Oil pan removed
Unlock connector (1) with a small screwdriver and remove.
Remove receptacle housing (2) from bracket on shift unit.
Fold down retaining tabs and remove cable.
Unfasten screw and remove solenoid valve.
Installation:
Coat O-ring with ATF or Vaseline.
ATF, refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data 24 34 2AZ.
