3 Series E36 325i (M50) CONVER
33 21 000
Removing and installing or replacing left or
right output shaft
Note:
Remove rear wheel,
refer to 36 10 300.
Removing rear exhaust,
refer to Gr. 18 .
Unscrew stabilizer on rear axle carrier and tilt down.
Unscrew collar nut (1).
Installation:
Replace and lubricate collar nut with oil.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 41 3AZ .
Lock collar nut.
Unscrew bolts, take output shaft off of final drive flange and
suspend from car on a piece of wire.
Installation:
Use washers (1).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 21 1AZ .
Secure special tools 33 2 111 / 33 2 116 / 33 2 117 with 2
wheel studs and press out output shaft.
Important!
Prevent the output shaft from falling down.
Note:
Apply parking brake if necessary.
