3 Series E36 325i (M50) CONVER
Note:
Soft top must be maintained in position "clamping bracket
raised".
Unscrew bolts.
Remove convertible top drive rod (2) and clamp clamping bracket
drive rod (4) and place to one side.
Installation:
Secure screw with Loctite 270, (sourcing reference BMW
Parts Service).
Unscrew screw.
Displace clamping bracket drive rod (4) so far that pilot lever (3)
emerges from pivot lever (1). Extract pivot lever (1) by lifting
upwards.
Installation:
Secure screw with Loctite 270, (sourcing reference BMW
Parts Service).
Unfasten screws and lift convertible top drive unit out downwards.
Installation:
Supplied condition of convertible top drive "clamping bracket
at top".
Secure screws with Loctite 270, (sourcing reference BMW Parts
Service).
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 54 34 4AZ
Installation:
Gasket (1) must be fitted.
Caution!
Microswitches S1 and S2 are sealed and must not be
displaced.
