Removing and installing or replacing
cabriolet soft-top module (CVM)

Caution!

Activating rollover protection system before disassembly,

refer to 54 62 001.

Remove insert for side trim panel,

refer to 51 43 110

With BMW SERVICE TESTER or MoDiC:

- 

- Read and record meter readings on cabriolet soft-top

module

- 

Meter reading for number of times soft top was opened and

closed

- 

Meter reading for rollover protection system

- 

Encode new control unit with MoDiC e.g.: installed special

equipment

- 

Initializing motor-driven soft top,

refer to 54 34  002

- 

For additional instructions, refer to Vehicle Electric/Electronic

Test Plan, 3 Series E36

Unfasten screws from cabriolet soft-top module (1).

Disconnect connector.
