3 Series E36 325i (M50) CONVER
Only M51:
Connect special tool 61 2 070 (adapter cable) to battery plus
and ground. Connect special tool 61 1 467 (adapter cable) to
the magnetic coupling. Supply magnetic coupling with power via
special tool 61 1 476 (safety cable) and read off pointer reading
on dial gauge when doing so. Adjust clearance (0.5 ... 0.8 mm)
between drive plate and pulley using shims if necessary.
Spread and remove circlip.
Installation:
Note position of circlip.
The bevelled side must point outwards.
Remove belt pulley.
Spread and remove circlip.
Release screw (1), disconnect plug-in connection (2) and remove
solenoid coil.
Installation:
Note position of circlip.
The bevelled side must point outwards.
