Adjustment specification for camshaft (M50)
Hold crankshaft in TDC position with Special Tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Remove special tool prior to operating engine.
Caution!
If camshaft position has to be corrected enough for there to
be valve movement in cylinders No. 1 and 6, then rotate
crankshaft, first enginewise through approx. 30
°
starting form
TDC position and do not rotate back until after camshaft has
turned.
This prevents contact between valves and pistons.
Turn camshaft until peaks of intake and exhaust cams in cylinder
No.1 point to each other.
Unscrew and remove the three back retaining screws for the valve
cover screw connection.
