Removing and installing engine (M50)
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting
battery,
refer to general information in MG 12.
Disconnect negative battery lead.
Lift engine hood into assembly position and remove firewall (air
manifold). These work steps are described in Removing complete
wiper bracket.
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Remove transmission,
refer to 23 00 022 / 24 00 026.
Unfasten drain plug for coolant in engine block. Drain off coolant
and dispose of correctly.
Installation:
Replace seal.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 11 5AZ.
Disconnect plug-in connection.
