Replacing front axle support
Caution!
After installation, align front axle,
refer to 32 00 610.
Suspend engine in installation position with special tool.
Described in:
Removing oil sump.
Unscrew left and right bolts.
Installation:
Use washers.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 31 12 7AZ.
Unscrew left and right nuts and knock ball joints loose with a
plastic hammer.
Installation:
Remove grease from pin and bore. Replace self-locking nut.
Force ball joint upwards using a transmission lifter and base
11 7 360; this simplifies the tightening down of the nut.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 31 12 3AZ.
