Replacing left front engine carrier (without
wheel housing) (partial replacement up to
engine firewall)

Instructions on body repair,

refer to 41 00

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Caution!

Different straightening attachment take-up points of stabilizer
bracket on engine carrier depending on stabilizer connection
(spring strut or control arm).

This operation was performed on the left engine support.
Work on the right engine support should be adapted to suit
conditions.

Remove or disconnect following parts depending on side of work
(right).

Complete bumper

Front grill

Radiator assembly

Cover in wheel housing

Both headlight units

Container for windscreen wash unit

Air filter with suction fixture

Hood lock, left/right

Complete front axle with engine and transmission

Hydraulic control unit

Brake pipes

Insulating mat in center of transmission tunnel

Other vehicle parts located in the repair zone or subject to be
damaged from heat, sparks or dust, must be removed or covered.

Separate engine carrier from wheel housing and cut off in front of
reinforcement plate for the transmission tunnel.
