Replacing radial seal for manual shift valve
shaft (A5S 300J)
Unfasten nut (1) in setting "P".
Caution!
Always brace on bolt using special tool 24 5 220 to avoid
deformation of the cable.
Note:
Special tool 24 5 220 can only be fitted in setting "P".
Unscrew cable from holder.
Pull out cable.
Installation:
Adjust shift operation, refer to 24 00 003.
Tightening torque, refer to Technical Data.
Remove air collection box, refer to gr. 64.
Remove cover (1) for injection line.
Support engine from below prior to removal of the cross member
on the transmission.
Insert special tool 11 0 030 from above into inlet manifold and
secure to retainer on crankcase.
Fit special tool 00 2 200 and attach to special tool 11 0 030.
Tighten spindle (2) up to tension.
Remove heat shield (1).
