Replacing air conditioning compressor (M50,
M52)

Note:

Remove underbody protection.

refer to 51 47 490

Drawing refrigerant out of air conditioner,

refer to 64 50 009

or (operating manual for relevant service station).

Replace drier bottle if needed,

refer to 64 53 510

Loosen drive belt:

Insert Allen key in tensioning roller screw and turn slowly
clockwise. This compresses the tensioner, thus slackening the
drive belt.

Installation:

Note arrangement of drive belt

When installing drive belt, compress tensioning element and loop
belt over belt pulleys and check for correct position in grooves.

Unscrew couplings and disconnect suction and pressure lines.
