Replacing VANOS transmission unit
(S50 B30)
Removing intake camshaft,
refer to 11 31 019
Caution!
Use protective vice jaws.
Clamp intake camshaft upright in vice.
Unfasten screws and lift off spline hub.
Installation:
Fit screws without clearance but do not tighten at this stage.
Remove plate springs.
Installation:
Check installed direction.
Fit plate springs with small locating diameter pointing towards
thrust washer (camshaft).
