10. Check separation performance of clutch:

CAUTION!

Vehicle. Raise with lifting platform. The wheels must move freely!
If available, use measuring fixtures for finish balancer in order to reduce the deflection angle of the
output shafts.

If no measuring fixtures are available:
carry out check only at low engine speed and for a short period of time due to high deflection angle of
output shafts and resulting wear.

With DIS Tester, observe diagnosis requests, engine speed and transmission input speed.
-
Start engine (selector lever position = 0, neutral) and run at idle.
-
Display of engine speed in Tester corresponds to engine idle speed.
-
Transmission input speed indicated at Tester is 0 rpm.
-
Select E position with selector lever. Press accelerator pedal until an engine speed of approx. 1500 rpm is
reached. Maintain this engine speed.

The coupling closes; when the clutch is fully closed, the engine speed corresponds to the transmission
input speed.
