3 Series E36 M3 (S50) CONVER
Adapt door piller and mark out 4 long bores (1) for square-
section reinforcement pipe in the designated section of the door
pillar.
Caution!
Use straightening fixture (refer to BMW Parts) for windshield
frames.
Upper long bore also has to be drilled through reinforcement
member on cowl.
Distance (A) = 5 mm
Distance (B) = 25 mm
Mark out holes for plug-welding door opening and connection with
reinforcement on car jacking point.
Remove door pillar and drill holes.
Clean and coat joint surfaces with zinc dust paint.
Adjust door pillar and weld connecting faces of door opening with
long bores to reinforcement on car jacking point.
Caution!
Use straightening fixture (refer to BMW Parts) for windshield
frame!
Weld door pillar connections to outside of support carrier.
RA Replacing front left or right door pillar (cover for side member removed)
