Removing and installing fuel tank (Z3)

Caution!

After the installation of the fuel tank / Prior to the first
engine start-up:

Check electrical resistance between bayonet head (tank
filler pipe) and body. 

Measured value: approx. 0.6 

Ω

Fill fuel tank with at least 5 liters of fuel.

Draw off fuel from fuel tank,

refer to 16 00 005.

Remove complete rear axle,

refer to 33 31 000.

On M Roadster, remove carbon canister,

refer to 16 12 010.

Unfasten ground strap.

Unlock and remove connecting nipple from tank ventilation line (1)
with special tool 16 1 040.

Return line (3)
