If necessary, pull off seal (1) on left/right

and seal (2) at rear.

Mask body along roof connection with narrow fabric adhesive tape
(e.g. Tesa).

Glass tilt roof frame

2. 

Glue bead

3. 

Body opening

4. 

Fabric adhesive tape

Fit short knife (19.5 mm blade length, sourcing reference: BMW
Parts Service) to the tool.

In the corners, if necessary, fit a long knife (36 mm blade length,
sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service) to the tool.

Note:

Resharpen knife with machine running.

Carefully insert knife (1) between body (2) and roof frame (3).
