Removing and installing or replacing starter
(S50)
General Data, refer to Page 12 00 ...
Read fault memory.
Disconnect battery earth lead.
Remove air-intake manifold, refer to 11 61 050
Unscrew nuts.
Remove leads from starter motor.
Installation:
Check routing of wires.
For tightening torque, refer to Technical Data 12 41 4AZ
Unscrew bolts.
Remove starter motor.
Installation:
For tightening torque, refer to Technical Data 12 41 4AZ
Installation:
Check starter pinion for signs of damage.
Check the starter crown wheel for damage.
Notes on troubleshooting and dismantling the starter motor,
refer to 12 41 513
