3 Series E36 Z3 (M54) ROADST
Preparation of new part:
Manufacture metal profile section as instructed.
Material thickness 2 mm
Dimension a = 10 mm
Dimension b = 71 mm
Dimension c = 250 mm
Preparation of new part:
Apply primer coating to inside of metal profile section (1).
Insert profile section (1) with dimension a = 5 mm in luggage
compartment floor support member.
Weld 4 MAG weld seams 20 mm long in areas (2).
Note:
This work step is only applicable to the M Roadster.
On left side member, mark position of holder (1) on vehicle and
drill out holder.
(2) = direction of travel
Installation:
Position and weld up holder after welding in new support member.
Note:
The work steps shown in the following are to be carried over
symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Open weld joints in area (1).
Separate luggage compartment floor support member along line
(2) below wheel arch.
Installation:
Push new part over wheel arch and weld up.
