3 Series E46 316Ci (N45) COUPE
Illustration shows N42 engine.
Unclip all cables leading over manifold (1).
Unclip battery positive lead from oil dipstick guide tube.
Release and disconnect plugs on throttle housing and on
differential pressure sensor.
Unlock and detach vent hose (1).
Release and detach vent hose (2) on cylinder head cover.
Note:
For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the engine after
it has been removed. Release and detach tank vent valve hose on
manifold.
Release screw (1) from below.
Release screw (2) from above.
Cars without A/C system:
Release screws (1 and 2) from below.
Illustration shows N42 engine.
Unscrew nuts (2).
Release manifold screw connections on cylinder head.
Lift manifold off studs and remove towards top.
