Replacing wiring harness section for ignition
coil (N42 / N40)
Turn off ignition.
Preparatory tasks:

Remove microfilter housing
-
Remove acoustic cover
-
Remove ignition coil cover
-
Remove cover for cable routing from cylinder head cover
(N42).
-
Release and detach hose for engine venting (N42).
The tasks mentioned above are described in the section
"Removing and installing cylinder head cover".
N42 only:
Unlock plug (1) on positioning motor for eccentric shaft and
disconnect.
Unlock plug (2) on sensor and disconnect.
Unclip cable from cable duct (3).
Release screws of ground connection next to positioning motor.
Illustrations show N42.
Unlock plug fastener (1) and disconnect plug.
This procedure is applicable to all plugs on the ignition coils.
